“Maitri” or friendship is an art venture that exhibits works of women artists from India and China and promotes its namesake between them. A confluence of artists from two of the oldest civilizations of this world, “Maitri” represents humanity and peace through the medium of canvas and a palette of hues. A varied collection of works that are expressive in their own lieu of individualism compiled with modernism and traditionalism, “Maitri” is a medium where art and culture catalyze friendship and camaraderie. This program of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) stems from the belief in the power of art as a medium of expression that transcends all boundaries and cultural barriers.
